Kathy Malloch, Ph.D., MBA, RN, FAAN, Board President

Dr. Kathy Malloch is president of a national healthcare consulting firm providing services to assist leaders in challenging status quo systems and create new models that meet post-millenium health care needs.
Dr. Malloch also serves as:
- Area I Director, National Council State Boards of Nursing
- Member of editorial board of Aspen's Patient Care Management Journal and Creative Nursing Journal, the publication of Creative Healthcare Management
- Senior Consultant for Tim Porter-O'Grady Associates
- Faculty Arizona State University, College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation
Dr. Malloch has been a registered nurse for 30 years. She is a graduate of Wayne State University, College of Nursing, received an MBA from Oakland University and a PhD in nursing from the University of Colorado. |

Pat Johnson, LPN, Board Vice President
Term Expires June 30, 2009
Ms. Johnson is employed as a LPN in the Women and Infants Service at a Valley Medical Center. Pat has been a LPN for more than 30 years. She also served on the Scope of Practice Committee of the Arizona State Board of Nursing for four years.

M. Hunter Perry, Board Secretary
Term Expires June 30, 2011
Mr. Perry is a consultant specializing in healthcare business development and marketing. He has been a healthcare professional for over 25 years with a background in operations and business development for a clinical diagnostic laboratory, and a technical background in neurodegenerative disease research. Mr. Perry has a commitment to public service having served on the Public Policy Committee for the Arizona Health Care Association.

Dr. Denise Link, RNP, PhD, CNE, FNAP, Board Member
Term Expires June 30, 2011
Dr. Denise Link is a Clinical Associate Professor at Arizona State University College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation and is the Director of the ASU Health Center, a campus based academic nursing center that provides health care to ASU students and employees.
Dr. Link also serves as:
- The Arizona representative to the American College of Nurse Practitioners
- Member of the editorial advisory board for the Journal for Nurse Practitioners and a reviewer for two other nursing journals
- Member of the Technical Task Force for Arizona Health-e Connections Roadmap
- Member of the Governor’s Ad Hoc Committee on Cervical Cancer
- Member of the Arizona Nurses Association and the Arizona Nurse Practitioner Council.
Dr. Link has been a registered nurse for 31 years. She has been a women’s health nurse practitioner since 1979 and has been board certified in Women’s Health since 1982. Dr. Link has held positions as a part-time or full time nursing educator in both graduate and undergraduate programs since 1981. She earned her BSN from Gwynedd Mercy College, an MSN from the University of Pennsylvania where she also minored in Administration at the Wharton School of Business, and a Doctor of Nursing Science from Widener University. Dr. Link is a Fellow of the National Academies of Practice.

Ms. Busby is an attorney specializing in health care. She represents various health care providers and entities providing government relations representation and advice and consultation on regulatory, contracting and other health care related issues.

Kathy A. Scott, RN, MPA, PhD, FACHE, Board Member
Term Expires June 30, 2013
Dr. Kathy Scott is a healthcare executive and fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Dr. Scott currently serves as the System Vice President of Clinical Delivery for Banner Health Arizona, providing leadership through the strategic direction, development and implementation of system-wide professional practice and clinical standards, new care-delivery models, intergrative technology, nursing and healthcare-system research and clinical and team education/training for nursing and other professional disciplines.
Dr. Scott has served in a variety of health-care leadership roles for the past 20 years which include chief operation officer, chief nursing officer, national consultant, educator, researcher and author. She is a national leader in redesign of patient care delivery models, leadership development and high-reliability research and operational redesign to improve patient care.
Dr. Scott currently serves in many capacities to advance the quality of health-care and the nursing profession including consultant to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Practice Breakdown Committee; Adjunct Faculty--ASU Masters of Healthcare Innovations program, teaching Critical Thinking in Complex Systems course; board member and Past-President of the Arizona Organization of Nurse Executives; and chair-elect and board member of the Arizona Healthcare Institute Advisory Board.
