Aspen University Nursing Program Update

Feb 18, 2022

On February, 18, 2022, the Arizona State Board of Nursing issued a Notice of Charges to Aspen University nursing program, after Aspen did not accept the settlement that was offered by the Board within the designated time frame. Aspen will have 30 days to respond to the Notice of Charges. At this time, Aspen is not under any Nursing Board disciplinary action or special requirements.

Aspen and the Nursing Board may still reach a settlement on this matter, up and until the Board makes a final decision after an administrative hearing. Any significant, proposed changes to the original settlement offered by the Nursing Board would need to return to the Board for approval.

If no settlement is reached, we anticipate that the administrative hearing (like a trial) will proceed at the Arizona Office of Administrative Hearings before an administrative law judge. After the hearing, the case would return to the Board for a final decision. This process normally lasts several months.
