NCLEX Test Plans and Passing Standards Now Available

In preparation for their effective date of April 1, 2023, the 2023 NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN test plans are now available. The 2023 NCLEX test plans include specific information related to content examples, new exam administration principles, exam scoring and stopping rules, item writing tips, detailed information related to clinical judgment, NCLEX terminology, and references to new sample items and the new NCLEX tutorial.

The NCSBN Board of Directors voted in December 2022 to uphold the current passing standards for the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN Examinations. For the NCLEX-RN, the passing standard will remain at the current level of 0.00 logits. For the NCLEX-PN, the passing standard will remain at the current level of -0.18 logits.
